We recently go our new HP Compaq desktop computers in and all hooked up. I am very excited with this upgrade. The new computers are equipped with Windows 7 operating system. They also have Microsoft Office 2010 which will definitely come in handy in creating professional and engaging projects and documents.
New Printer!
Our newest classroom edition is

Reminder!
Remember that your $20 fee money is due ASAP if you have not already paid it. This money goes toward purchasing supplies for our class including: ink cartridges, copy paper, new software, etc. You may bring cash or a check made out to Moody High School.
Test Friday!
BTA: We will have a test Friday on Units 1-4. The test will include vocabulary as well as other information that has been covered the past few weeks including: hardware, software, keyboarding, business letters, memos, research reports, and MLA format. We will review as a class on Thursday and a study guide is posted below for you to study on your own.
Multimedia: We will have a test on Friday covering desktop publishing. Hopefully you held on to the handout from last week with questions that you answered about desktop publishing, text, and graphics. This should be used as your study guide. I have posted a copy of the handout below and most of the answers can be found on the PowerPoints posted on under the MD Classwork page on February 15. We will review as a class on Thursday.

Our first upgrade!
New chairs!!
As you can see, we were in desperate need of new chairs for our classroom. Not only were we not equipped with computer style chairs, many of our previous chairs were in terrible condition. I felt awful when students would complain that their chair was pinching their leg because it had been cracked, and I was constantly trying to find spare chairs around the school to replace them with. Which was not an easy task. It was definitely time for an upgrade. We're-a movin' on up!!

Welcome!
_I am so glad to have each of you in my class this Spring.
Our Career Tech classes here a Moody High are quickly moving into the 21st Century. Our lab is on its way to being upgraded in several different areas. Last year, we were so excited to purchase new flat screen monitors for the computers. This year we are expected to receive new computer chairs, brand new HP computers, and an all-in-one color printer. The new computers will be equipped with Windows 7 operating system, Microsoft Office 2010, Windows Movie Maker, and more! I also received an iPad 2 to use in the classroom. These upgrades will play a vital part in moving Moody High School forward with the rapidly growing technological times we are living in today.
It is hard to find a career these days that does not incorporate some type of computer knowledge. Our Business Technology Applications class is designed so that no matter what level of computer knowledge a student begins this semester with; by the end of the term, each student will be proficient in numerous computer and career-related areas. I also try to integrate as much content and skills from multiple subject areas as possible. This allows students to build on their current knowledge base and connect what they know with what they are learning.
If you are one of the many students these days that is already tech-savvy, I hope you will enjoy fine-tuning those skills, as well as sharing them with myself and the rest of our class. I am so excited to begin this new semester, get to know each of you, and hopefully help you learn some valuable skills that will benefit you well beyond the high school walls.
